Blanket Creek Pottery was established in 2001 on property owned by a small community. Two years of prior work experience in ceramics was enough to start a simple workshop out of a garage, building up the business one wheel-thrown pot at a time.
The many challenges associated with living in a rural community meant limited time and resources for the first several years, so i mostly made the pottery to fill specific orders and invested the revenue back into the workshop, all the while working another job full time from home. Eventually online advertising increased the demand for the pottery enough to make it a full time project and interest in the pottery continues to grow.
