I strive to elevate simplistic forms and create a tactile experience, evident in the color of clay I throw with, to the finishes and glaze on each piece.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMy background in ceramics is atypical; my first step into adulthood I was set on becoming a mechanical engineer, with my interests focused on space. After a combination of health issues and not wanting to spend the rest of my life behind a computer screen, I decided to quit engineering school. Feeling lost, and unsure of my next step in life, I found myself spending hours behind my pottery wheel. Throwing as a pastime morphed into something I saw as my future.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eToday, my studio practices are in form and iteration, balancing the sliding scale of what works well in a practical sense and what looks aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
