Steve designs and produces all of the pottery made. All pieces are thrown on the potter’s wheel using a high-fired stoneware clay body. The glazes used, have been formulated to be durable for every day use and prepared by Steve. All of the pottery produced has been fired in a gas kiln to 2350 degrees. They are oven, microwave and dishwasher safe, unless otherwise noted. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e Steve finds inspiration from the potters of Colonial America where pottery was produced for daily needs around the home and farm. He also is inspired by the early 20th century studio pottery revival of the British Isles and the simplicity of Medieval European pottery. The most notable inspiration in Steve’s work comes from artists Bernard Leach, Michael Cardew and Ray Finch. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e Steve learned pottery at Everett Community College under the instruction of Mar Hudson in 1992. He tried the course as an elective. His original major was Drawing but quickly changed after the first course.
