Elaine Buss is a ceramic and mixed media artist from rural Lively Grove, Illinois. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in spring of 2010. Her work has been displayed nationally through solo, group and invitational exhibitions. She has received various awards and scholarships, including the Dan Honorary Arrowmont Scholarship. Elaine served as Assistant Head and, subsequently, Head of Ceramics at Snow Farm Craft Program in Williamsburg, Massachusetts for the High School Summer Program from 2010-2012. She completed a two year Artist in Residence at Odyssey ClayWorks in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina in July of 2013. In late summer of 2013, Elaine was led to rural Nebraska where she completed a short-term residency at Art Farm. She now resides in Kansas City, Missouri and serves as Resident artist at 323 Clay in Independence, Missouri. Her focus in clay and art is not only to make, but also to educate and share.
