With a certain perspective, anything can be a painting. David Nicholson was born in the Midwest and has lived in Kansas for most of his life. He discovered his love of art while drawing characters from newspaper comic strips as a kid and has been creating art ever since.
David primarily works with oils and acrylics, often drawing from his surroundings and
finds the tactile experience of applying paint to a surface to create a tangible object important. In his compositions, he brings colorful, simplified figurative, and abstract elements together to suggest a narrative. He resides and works in Roeland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri, and is a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from Park University in 2014.
