William Willmott was raised in Lawrence, KS the child of a family known for its artistic achievements. He received the presidential scholarship to attend the Kansas City Art institute for painting. William’s art is characterized by bold black lines and brightly colored shapes that explore concepts of Afrofuturism through both abstraction and figurative work. Willmott’s preferred mediums often combine spray-paint, oil paint, ink and more recently, digital collage. Willmott also works as an arborist and enjoys cultivating a stewardship with nature and all animals.
