Chandra Beadleston - Ceramic Bag Sculpture - Large
This unique piece is a thin ceramic sculpture made to look like a paper lunch bag. It is decorated with hand-painted bananas and black polka dots.
Chandra's vessel of choice for her ceramic art is a paper bag because it is so much more versatile than a cup or vase. Paper bags, like the ones brought home from the grocery store, can be used and reused for so many purposes. Bags can be filled with many other things. They can be torn down and used as wrapping. They can be flattened and stored away when you don’t want them to be seen or have no current use for them. The artist likes the symbolism that paper bags hold and how they are tied to everyday life.
Due to the nature of handmade items, products received may look different than item pictured.
